Chapter 3 Ways Kids are Bullied
What ways are kids bullied? How are kids bullied? There are so many kids that need help but not very many people know what ways kids and teens have to bully. Cyber bullying, physical bullying, and just regular bullying are a few examples of bullying, but can you go deeper?
What counts as bullying? Bullying is unwanted behavior that is repeated. Kids messing with your emotions or posting mean things on social media. That all counts as bullying. Bullying is something that needs to be stopped. There are so many things that count as bullying it could go on forever.
What is physical bullying? Harassment, name-calling, abuse. Those are some examples of physical bullying. Another example is, stalking - bullies will stalk you, find out where you live and then they could harm you when you least expect it. While someone is getting beat up a lot of teens and kids see what is going on but they don’t tell an adult. They do this because they don’t want to get involved in the fight so they keep it low-key.
Stories. You hear them a lot but do you stop and think that it would ever happen to you? Bullying is very common, but a huge issue. On a website www.noplaceforhate.org has tons of stories but this story stuck out. Curtis, a boy who was bullied for no reason at all. He tried playing football because those who played were popular. Maybe it would help, but it only made it worse. Curtis was too small and skinny to be on the football team. He switched schools 4 times just to avoid the bullying. Because of the bullying but he found something he was good at… Wrestling! He found out what he was good at and he followed through all the way. All of the bullying stopped. Strange huh? Just a normal person could get bullied for no reason. Could you be the next victim?
In conclusion, kids and teens are bullied in many ways. Physical bullying, cyberbullying, bullying. It all hurts but there are different ways that kids are bullied and we need to know what these “ways” are so that we can put a stop to it.
